5th Week In CCA

Monday, have oral in the morning, i got bring my notes back lurh. hehe. Afternoon, we made our own homemade burger patties! from one whole chicken wheyy. i'm so proud. besides, we cooked beef stock too for the coming spaghetti.

Labour day on Wednesday! oh gosh, it's May already, have been in this college for a month! time past so fast and its even faster when i'm doing things i like which is culinary. haha. My brother in law and sis bought me to Paradigm mall to have lunch at Plan B. We walked around after eating and i got myself some guitar picks! i did some collections.

Thurday, made beef bolognese! yea, i took beef while i can't. i'm sorry God.

it was not bad. XD

Friday, we cooked our burger patties that have been in the chiller for days. haha.

it wasnt that nice, but at least i know how to do it. hehe.

i got my ID card that day too! don't laugh yea...

Went back Malacca, and drove my 3rd sister's car back to KL since she starting the job in Singapore already, no one using the car. i get to drive all the way from Malacca to KL for the 1st time man! it was really tiring. the good thing was, i get to drive myself to college already. all these while, i was sent by either my sis or my bro in law. i did drove few days when my sister got no work.

So the officially 1st day i have a car to drive was quite dangerous, it was the day after the GE13. it wasn't really a fair elections. i'm not gonna say much about it here, i'm just gonna say, i am really disappointed.

P.s. worrying if the 13May incident might happen again. tsk tsk tsk.

4th Week In CCA.

We got oral test on Monday morning! Guess what, I went back Malacca last weekend but I forgot to bring back my notes to study for oral. I damn nervous as it is the first time we had oral here you know plus I dint have the notes. I started memorizing when I reach KL at 11pm, can you know how pro am I to start studying the day before at NIGHT some more. I didn’t get to sleep well you know, I memorize, fell asleep, force myself wake up memorize, fell asleep, force myself wake up again to memorize, these happened again and again until 6am I finally finish memorizing 14pgs. I HAVE TO WAKE UP AT 7AM. Lol. I went to school, super steam man my face. Super tired! All was worth it because I passed my oral test just one time, we have two chances, if the 1st time we can’t answer the questions we can go and memorize and test again. it was one to one oral, just the chef and you in a room. I got the other 2 t-shirt already!

on the other hand, i got myself a tool box! yea, tool box, u guys did not read wrongly. most of the chefs and the students here uses tool box to store their knife all that. no joke! haha. i told my sisters, i change job ad, fixing those electric stuffs as i'm holding the tool box. xp. honestly, it's really more convenient to use tool box, easier to take out the tools we wanted.

In the afternoon, we cooked nasi lemak! We made own sambal wheyyyy. XD Did you know some other places, there’s no kang kung in their nasi lemak? Well, I know so I asked my chef about it, she said, nasi lemak with kang kung are a very traditional way of doing it. woah, now I know. Haha. now you know too if you didn’t know about it. maybe there’s some other opinion about the kang kung, I don’t know. 

how's that? it made by me!!! haha. when i whatsapp the picture to my sisters, and my eldest sister reply this "wah! i wan ayam rendang, sambal cockle and sambal prawns." =.='' starting to order from me already, i don't know how to cook lurh.....

Tuesday no class right, my 3rd sister came to look for me! she no more working as she is going Singapore soon, she got a job there. we went TGIF for lunch, nyehehe. she bought me a small drawer too, because my room here got no place to put my stuffs. after that, we bought ingredients and we prepared dinner! i only cooked the potato soup. XD not bad!! the soup finished drinking le, i forgot to take those pictures.

Wednesday, yam rice with stir fry lotus root and honeydew chicken. Well, I don’t really like to eat yam rice but this one I like! Maybe the methods of cooking are different, that’s why it tasted nicer to me. I’m not saying I cook one then I say nice but I am really being honest here. Haha. As for honeydew chicken, we put the fruits on top of the chicken, we usually eat it at restaurant during some event, for example, a wedding dinner.

Thursday, nothing much, just macaroni tuna salad and tomato salad. We learned to make vinaigrette in this lesson, it’s the dressing for the salads.

Friday, kampung fried rice! We used the wok to fried, like those people cooking and the wok will be on fire. Haha! We only have 2woks, so while we’re waiting for our turn to cook. I stand alone, like isolating myself away from my classmates. To be honest, I kind of lazy want to talk to them because maybe they are all younger than me, I know just few years younger got 1 same age with me and 1 older than me but still they have their gang. Maybe because they didn’t been through form6 life because I can really see there’s different between those who joined form6 or not. Maybe because they are too noisy, chef is not happy about it sometimes. Or maybe it’s just me, I don’t know. Chef saw I’m alone and she’s like "what happened to you?!", she helped seeking attention from the class for me. lol. She kept asking me to fit it with them, this and that. I don’t really know what happened to me but I know myself wasn’t like that, I mean, anti-social. I believe those who know me won’t say that I’m an isolated kid. Right??? XD

it's really spicy for me as i can't really eat spicy stuffs. i only put a bit of the sauce and fried but still pedas!

I went back this weekend to have a BBQ party with my high school’s friends, it's CK's plan and i'm glad that he invited me too! Suppose to go back with my bro in law and sister but there’s some change of plan. I insist to go back Malacca on Friday after my class, so my sis sent me to bus station. I purposely take bus to have fun with my friends in Malacca because it’s been so long. I miss those days we had fun and we did have fun during the party on Saturday night too at Pantai Puteri!

P.s. I felt like I’m a weirdo in class now. Damn. :(

3rd Week In CCA.

We had theory class and i get my butcher steel in the morning on Monday, we have to buy that steel ourselves plus kitchen weighing scale(will buy soon). Then in the afternoon, we made poached egg and scramble egg. Haha, the methods I’ve learned is not the way I think. I am really glad that I join the class instead of just go out and get a job in the kitchen. Yes, you may learn how to cook too, but not in details and not those basics.

Wednesday, egg appetizer and we learned how to cook chicken stock instead of using the instant one. Nyehehe. Then we use the stock to cook puree soup, the type of puree soup we made was potato leek soup. Not bad. XD okay, I forgot to snap a picture of the chicken stock. on the other hand, we have finally got our safety boots! XD

Thursday, we learned to cut fruits. Again, don’t laugh. I did learn something, plus we don’t just cut and eat. We cut and decorate it, high standard one okay. Xp we have papaya, pineapple, watermelon and my favorite honey dew!

Friday, pengat pisang and juices. Pengat pisang is a malay’s dessert, I don’t know how it taste like because I am allergic to banana! Haha, if you guys read my blog about my allergy last time or you know me about this weird allergy, then you’ll know about it. I stil think it’s a false alarm but I still don’t dare to try eating it again, it’s really suffering. T.T the juices, we blend the leftover from the day before and also because we decorate it you know, we cut of some ugly parts.

P.S. I want to eat pisang goreng…….. haha. I always said, I shall eat it in hospital emergency’s room. Eveready!

2nd Week In CCA

Monday, we had theory class in the morning and we get to enter the kitchen in the afternoon! Nyehehe, 1st thing we learn, cutting vegetables...... Eh, hello! Don’t laugh kay. We learn the shapes, and all those shapes got their own name one kayy, like, Julienne, Brunoise etc. we learned the faster ways to cut too. Here, the picture.

Wednesday, waffle, pancake, potato salad and roasted chicken salad. For your information, we mixed everything ourselves, we did not use ready made waffle or pancake flour and just stir with some water. Except, milk all that ya, we got no cow for us to squeeze the milk. Hahaha. 

shall try to draw doraemon's face on it next time. haha! but i don't know how... :((

Thursday, we learned to flip the food with pan. Hehe, learned it through fried egg and so we made a breakfast set!

Friday, sandwiches! 4types, club sandwich was the most yummy one (for me). it has beef bacon in it, I think that’s what it makes it so yummy to me. BACON you know, haha. besides, we have egg mayo sandwich, tuna sandwich and also open face sandwich. Now only I know about open face sandwich, it’s a bread/biscuit/anything at the bottom, put some fillings on top of it and there’s no cover on top of that. XD

Well, I didn’t get to go back Malacca this weekend because Monday’s a public holiday in Malacca, so my brother in law’s mum and aunty came to KL and we have to stay in KL too obviously. The good thing was I get to go out and eat some nice foods. Haha. i'm just gonna say this, my sister and i lazy wanna walk while the other 2aunties wanna shop, so we went to have a drink. it's super nice (if you like chocs).

Anyway, I’m sad because I missed a few outing with my friends in Malacca. :(( I’m like why when I’m in Malacca plus I’m so free then go no outing, whereas when I’m busy and wasn’t in Malacca then got outing, a few outing some more not only one.

P.s. can’t wait to go back Malacca every weekend!

1st week in CCA

1st of April, the starting of my new life in Cilantro Culinary Academy in short CCA. Haha. yea, so coincident my class start on april fool day. XD

The 1st two days was orientation. We registered, introduces ourselves, listen to a speech from the principal and also the vice principal. We also tested the shirts, chef’s jacket and safety boots to see what size suits us. Other than that, we get out tools too! Which include, knife set holder, chef’s hat, apron, scarf, chef’s knife, paring knife, spatula, pastry brush, both table spoon and fork, tea spoon, peeler and kitchen towel. Happy heart we had. XD besides, 2 out of 4 t-shirts we get, since there's not enough stock.

On the second day, we all have took our individual photo for our ID card. In the afternoon, all of us have to sit an English exam except for those who got A in English for SPM, I am one of them! Yay, I don’t need to sit for it. For those who got 80% and above for the test don’t need to attend the English classes for the 1st two term, of course same goes to those who get A in English for SPM. Yay again! Haha.

For the 3rd, 4th, and 5th day, we had our theory classes in the classroom, no entering kitchen for us. That’s when I start to miss my schooling life in secondary school, where we slept in the class, how we make fun of our teachers, etc. I’m sad. So, you guys must be very curious about what we, the culinary students learn in our theory. We learned about personal hygiene, kitchen hygiene, fist aids etc. Some said, culinary academy, go kitchen learn to cook only what. Woah, it’s not really easy okay. WE GOT THEORY TOO! Just that in CCA, we have more practical than theoretical.

That’s it the whole week, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm, our lunch time is from 12pm to 1pm. We got our schedule too, my class off on Tuesday. I’m like whyyyyyyy it is not off on Friday, so that I get to go back to Malacca earlier. My time table stated, Monday and Wednesday full which is 9am to 4pm, Thursday, half day from 1pm to 4pm, actually got English class in the morning from 9am to 12pm but I no need to go as I mentioned just now, lastly on Friday, it’s also half day, from 1pm to 4pm. I’m like again, whyyyy not in the morning from 9am to 12pm on Friday so that I can go back Malacca earlier. Lol. No choice, I will get use to it someday and somehow.

I can’t go back Malacca often too though, I following my brother in law. If he got no work on the weekend then we’ll wait for him to finish work on Friday and we as in my 2nd sis, him and me, will head back to Malacca after dinner. It’s late I know, but no choice, we reached Malacca about 10something at night. Yea, I went back on the 1st weekend. Haha, I was so happy but I missed LCC on Friday night that day.

P.s. since every Tuesday is my holiday, I might update my blog every Tuesday IF ONLY I have time and I’m not tired. Hehe.

P.s.s. not for the 1st month because I am still adapting the new environment. I am posting one shot about what happened in the 1st month but week by week k. XD

Aileen Lim Zhixiang!! XD

Today is this SIAO CHA BO birthday wheyyy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY my 6 in 1 friend! haha. she said she can be my friend, girlfriend, sister, brother, daughter, and mummy, so this is how the 6 in 1 friend exist. lol. can you see now why i called her siao cha bo? haha. besides, she is really a crazy in a gud way and fun girl!

I know Aileen in MHS during our form6. As usual, i don't know how we can get to be this close to each other. haha.she said she knew me since F3 i think? To be honest i didn't know her til F6. Her elder brother are buddy with my 4th brother in law, so, she knows him and my 4th sister too because they always hang out in her house.

Aileen told me, few years back, when she was at Pak Putra with her bro, my bro in law and my sister, she saw me there asking for the car key from my sister then walked away anddd yea i didn't know she was there. Anyway, what past is past, we are now friends and is quite a close friend too! i'm glad that it is not too late to know her now.

This girl can suddenly text me or whatsapp me by saying "chio bu say hi. lol." and she sent a pic of her to me. =.= or "li shuan, ni ai wo ma?" and sumtimes just say hello. do all these for no reason, THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS DO. XDD glad she did all that so that we will keep in touch, haha.
